Important information about New Jersey Personal Injury Protection

Effective October 28th, 2008, we have changed our New Jersey Family Automobile Isurance Policies (A-30 and A-99) for new business and renewals. Please see below for the correct documents related to your policy.

For all claims involving policies with effective dates prior to October 29, 2008:

  • Decision Point Review & Pre-Certification Requirements: Premier Prizm Solutions.
  • Personal Injury Protection Plan Administration for patients and medical providers.

 

Regarding the application of the co-pay and deductible:

Application of co-payments and deductibles
In accordance with new regulations adopted by the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance pursuant to the application of penalty co-payments set forth in N.J.A.C. 11:3-4.4(g), GEICO applies co-payments and deductibles in the following order:

For all claims involving policies with effective dates prior to October 29, 2008:

  • Insured Deductible
  • Insured Co-Payment
  • Penalty Co-Payments (if applicable)

For all claims involving new business or renewals purchased on or after October 29, 2008:

  • Insured Deductible
  • Insured Co-Payment
  • Penalty Co-Payments (if applicable)
